Tell us about your business and when and why you set it up?
I’ve always had a passion for travel and worked in the industry for 10 years. When I returned to the UK after a 7 year stint of living abroad I didn’t want to go back into the corporate world. I found out about Travel Counsellors quite by chance (a friend had liked them on Facebook) and I was curious. It ticked all my boxes, a passionate established company who were there to support me with a fabulous product and help, combined with the opportunity to run the business myself. I’ve been operating for just over a year now and have many customers coming back to me to rebook which is the best compliment I could receive.
What words of wisdom can you give to another Business Girl that is just starting out? Persevere. Even on the tough days. No one said it would be easy and it takes time to establish yourself. Hold on for the ride!
How do you achieve work/life balance?
I often work late into the evening as my customers like to speak to me then when they’re at home and relaxed and can talk with their family. When that happens, I don’t feel bad about taking the following morning off.
What has been the most memorable moment in your business journey so far?
The joy of seeing people having a great time on a holiday that I’ve booked.
What are your plans for your business in the future?
My business is still young, so I’m focused on establishing myself and growth right now.
Tell us one fact about you that we might not know about?
My guilty pleasure is watching Monster Trucks!!!!
Who inspires you the most?
Women who have been successful in business, either their own or within another, especially those that are typically male dominated.
